About Streetvan
What is Streetvan?
Streetvan is an innovative new self service van rental scheme that allows you to pick up a van close to your home or work and use it by the hour. No more van rental depots for you.
Where did it come from?
Streetvan is brought to you by Streetcar, the UK?s largest Car Club. Streetcar has over 800 cars operating a similar service to provide an alternative to car ownership. Streetcar membership provides complimentary membership of Streetvan.
Which one should I join?
Streetcar gives you access to all the cars and all the vans for £59.50 per year plus usage charges, Streetvan gives you access to all the vans for £19.50 per year plus usage charges. We know that some of you may not need more than occasional van use but for those that may want occasional use of a car as well Streetcar could be the best bet. You can upgrade your membership at any time by calling us on 0845 644 8475.
Joining
Am I eligible to join Streetvan?
To join Streetvan you must be aged between 21 and 75 and have held a valid driving licence for at least 12 months, or aged between 19 and 21 and have held a valid driving licence for at least 24 months. You must also have had no more than 1 accident in which an insurance claim was made in the last 3 years.
We will also ask you about any endorsements and convictions that you may have. If you have any concerns about your eligibility then do not hesitate to call us on 0845 644 8475.
What if I do not have a UK licence?
No problem, when you fill in your details on the registration form and submit them we will send you an email asking you to send us a copy of your driving licence, photo proof of identification and two proofs of address (utility bills etc).
When we receive these details in we will give you a call to complete your registration with you.
How simple is the sign up process?
Very! As soon as you fill in your details on our registration form we receive them and will then call you back within 24 hours.
This call will contain a quick conference call with the DVLA (for UK licence holders) to confirm your licence details, we will then run through the insurance options that we have available for you to take advantage of if you wish and then take payment details for our annual club membership fee of £59.50.
All this can be done in a 5 minute call after which we will send you your smartcard out in the post and send you an email with your membership details.
Once you have these you are all ready to go and free to use any one of our fleet of vans or vans.
Can I use a Van today?
Yes, we can unlock the vans remotely if you do not have your smartcard yet. All you need to do is register and book.
What will you do with my details?
Do not worry, we will never pass on any of the details that you give to us to any 3rd party.

Booking
How do I make a booking?
Over the internet, using this site, or by phone on 0845 644 8475.
How long before my trip can I book?
A booking takes about 60 seconds to reach the van, but it is usually best to book in advance to ensure you get your van and location of preference.
How far in advance of my trip can I make a booking?
As far as 6 months.
What if the first choice of van I want is usually booked?
We monitor bookings carefully to prevent this problem. If a particular van is in
frequent demand, we'll add another in the same area as soon as the need becomes
clear.
How and when do I cancel a booking?
You can cancel or change a booking up to 1 hour before the start of the booking,
either online or over the phone. There is no charge for this. Less than 1 hour before
the booking starts and during the booking, you will be charged for the full booking.
If I return the van early, do I pay the full amount?
Yes. You cannot shorten a booking once it has started as sadly we do need to charge you for the period the van was unavailable to other users.

Streetcards
Can anyone else use my Streetcard?
No. The card is in your name and should only be used by you (and the partner on your account if you have one). Anyone who is not a
Streetvan member is not insured, and as a result may be open to prosecution by the
police for driving without insurance.
What do I do if I lose my Streetcard?
Contact us immediately on 0845 644 8475 so we can cancel your old card and issue
you with a new card. You will be charged £10 for the replacement card.

Billing
How will I be charged?
Payments are taken from a registered credit or debit card 24 hours after the end of your booking. Ad hoc charges such as Congestion Charges are paid in the same way.
How will I know when Streetvan debits me?
You will receive an email if your payment fails but most users manage their accounts online.
