Why are you introducing an inexperienced driver charge?

Inexperienced drivers are responsible for a disproportionate number of accidents. The Inexperienced driver charge simply reflects this higher cost.

Which young drivers are exempt?

Those with a proven history of good driving will be exempt from the young driver premium. Exemptions are available to:

Those who have had 20 bookings or more with Streetcar and have not caused any damage or had any further points added to their license
Those who can provide evidence of two years no claims history dated within a month of submission

How will I be charged?

The cost of each booking will be debited from your payment card when your booking is made. Extra charges such as fuel over the free mileage allowance will be taken from your registered payment card 24 - 48 hours after your booking has ended. If you cancel a booking, the booking cost will be automatically refunded (subject to our 4 hour cancellation policy).

Do I have to pay extra for insurance?

No. The rates include fully comprehensive insurance. You can pay extra per trip to reduce the excess to zero.

Do I have to pay for fuel?

Each van comes with its own fuel card, so you don't have to pay when you fill up - the bill comes straight back to Streetvan. You get 30 miles free per calendar day.
